Our Generation (1:00pm)
Rating: N/A Running Time: 1 hour 13 minutes
OUR GENERATION is a powerful and upfront documentary on the Australian Aboriginal struggle for their land, culture and freedom – a story that has been silenced by the Australian Government and mainstream media. Driven by the remote Yolngu of Northeast Arnhem Land, one of the last strongholds of traditional Aboriginal culture in Australia, as well as the voices of national indigenous leaders, historians and human rights activists, the film explores the ongoing clash of cultures that is threatening to wipe out the oldest continuing culture in the world. With music by John Butler Trio, Yothu Yindi, Xavier Rudd, Gurrumul, Archie Roach, Goanna, Saltwater Band and more.
Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part II (5:00pm)
Rating: M Running Time: 2 hours 10 minutes
Everybody’s favourite wizard is back in this final instalment of the much-loved Harry Potter saga. The kids of Hogwarts are all grown up and continue to hunt and destroy each of Lord Voldemort’s Horcruxes before Harry (Radcliffe) finally comes face-to-noseless face with a truly frightening Lord Voldemort (Fiennes). With an epic battle to come, expect a fair share of magical violence and dark themes, but a beautiful and fitting finale to a great series of films.
Daniel Radcliffe, Emma Watson, Rupert Grint, Ralph Fiennes, Alan Rickman
Bad Teacher (8:00pm)
Rating: M Running Time: 1 hour 29 minutes
Elizabeth Halsey (Diaz) is certainly not an ideal educator. This foul-mouthed teacher spends her time sleeping through class, cursing at her students, and arriving at school hungover from the night before. Her life goal is to seek out a rich husband to rescue her from a profession that she just really doesn’t give a toss about. Fellow substitute Scott (Timberlake) is a shoe-in with his good lucks and big bank statement, and she does her best to win his affections from her rival, goody two shoes teacher Amy Squirrel (Punch), who teaches just across the hall. Not your typical high school comedy, but full of lots of laughs from a hilarious cast.
Cameron Diaz, Justin Timberlake, Jason Segel, Lucy Punch
