History of Volunteer Resource Centre/ Community Resource Centre
May 2001 The Centre is opened at the Manjimup Timber Park by Cr Keith Liddelow and Chair Jeff Baker.
Feb 2002 Operations relocate to 41 Giblett Street and co-locates with Manjimup on The Move to form a Community Resource Centre. Aug 2002 The Centre becomes an Incorporated Association. Aug 2002 The organisation relocates a couple of doors down Giblett St. Nov 2002 The Centre relocates to 45 Rose Street. July 2003 Centrelink Agent contract is acquired. Aug 2003 The Centre receives two years Volunteer funding. Jan 2004 Work for the Dole contract is acquired. Aug 2004 Work Commences on Building Renovations. Jan 2006 The Centre receives one year Volunteering funding. Nov 2006 The Centre receives eighteen months Volunteer funding. May 2006 Lotterywest computer & digital projector funding is received. May 2007 The Centre receives 2006/07 First & Second Click Funding June 2007 Video Conference Services Commence at the Centre July 2007 Regional Partnerships Trailer Funding is received Sep 2007 Centre name changes to Manjimup Volunteer & Resource Centre Nov 2007 Centre develops a new logo Nov 2007 Telstra Connected Seniors grant received & training commences Jan 2008 Management of the Community Bus is assumed Jan 2008 Centre receives manjimup.org.au domain & produces new website Feb 2008 Disability & Mental Health awareness presentations commence Feb 2008 Community tax help program is engaged Jul 2011 Application Lodged DRD Nov 2011 Ranui Harris requested to return to work to assist acting manager. Nov 2011 Pat Martin. Chairperson, Bronya Wickland make emergency funding application to keep the VRC doors opening until DRD approve CRC application. Feb 2012 VRC Inc name change to MVRC inc Jul 2012 CRC Approval Jul 2012 CRC start-up funding Manjimup Community Resource Centre, begins with a wonderful purpose built centre and a network brand to be proud of. |
