Mr Redman said the two lots - 3,309 square metres and 4,564sqm - had been taken up by local developer Aquavista Holdings. "It is envisaged the developments, which can be up to three storeys, will have retail and commercial on the ground floor, and potentially short stay accommodation on the upper floors," he said. "The purchase follows last month's confirmation of the $1.5 million sale of the hotel/short stay site which is located next to the Albany Entertainment Centre, the first major building to feature on the new waterfront. "The sale of two prime lots within weeks of each other, with a third also under offer, is great news for Albany as the business centre of the Great Southern region." The Minister said the Liberal National Government had taken a keen interest in the progress of Albany waterfront to help bring greater choice of visitor accommodation and business facilities to the city centre, in turn supporting the economic growth of the city. "The State Government was keen to secure developers who would help create a vibrant and functional waterfront space right on the doorstep of Albany's CBD," he said. One lot remains available at Albany waterfront. Located between the Albany Entertainment Centre and the ANZAC Peace Park, the 4,338sqm lot is zoned for commercial use. Fact File
