Bob Taylor, pictured, is Northampton’s treasure and a self-confessed avid litter collector.  Keep Australia Beautiful WA want to say thank you and recognise him as a litter legend in Western Australia.  In 2017 Bob collected 485 litter bags of roadside rubbish!  Bob is celebrating his 75th birthday on 25 January and has been picking up road side litter for 25 years. You can read more about his clean-up efforts here.

Regional Consultation
Help shape the future of waste and recycling. The Waste Authority is giving the opportunity for community members to get involved on the future of waste and recycling.  You can read the consultation paper and view the regional workshops here.

Plastic Bag Ban – Regional community consultation. Be involved in the upcoming plastic bag ban.  Meetings in Karratha, Kalgoorlie, Bunbury, Narrogin, Albany, Geraldton, Broome and Port Hedland.  Register here.

Tidy Towns Awards 2018 will be launched on 3 March this year in Wongan Hills.  We are excited to say that Chelsea Basham, local country western singer, will be playing at the launch.  Communities will be able to register for the awards from then, and project submissions will be due by June. There are seven awards, so now is a great time to consider what projects you could enter.  (Projects are from June 2017 – June 2018).  If you would like to discuss any aspect of Tidy Towns entry, regional visits are still taking place, please contact me at the details below.
