Work began last month on an upgrade to the Bridgetown Wastewater Treatment Plant. The plant treats the town's wastewater to a high quality before it is used to irrigate the Bridgetown Golf Course. The project is expected to be completed in September 2018. Work is also under way on an infill sewerage project in the area, which began in March 2017. Infill sewerage systems eliminate the need for septic tanks and leach drains, benefiting the environment and public health. As a result of this project, 265 residential homes in Bridgetown will have access to the central wastewater system for the safe treatment and disposal of their wastewater. Work is expected to be completed by the end of June 2017.
