Administration Update:

Another week closer to Christmas and again we have been run off our feet!

                Centrelink           123
                Transport            191
                SFEH                  10

Please note that the Manjimup CRC will be closed over the Christmas period (and early next Friday for our staff Christmas party!). The amended hours are:

FRIDAY 16 DECEMBER - CLOSE 12.30 – REOPEN – 19 DECEMBER 9.00
FRIDAY 23 DECEMBER – CLOSE 12.30 – REOPEN -  3 JANUARY 8.30

In Centrelink news:

Make sure you claim early so you get ABSTUDY before school starts next year.

ABSTUDY helps Indigenous Australians with the costs of studying or doing an Australian Apprenticeship.

You may get help with school fees, boarding, travel and other school related items.
Claiming is easy! Do it over the phone on 1800 132 317.

Claim as soon as you know the date school starts. Or claim now if you’re already in school.

It’s important you claim early so you get ABSTUDY before school starts next year. Especially if you study away from home and need to organise travel.

Your parent, guardian or carer may get ABSTUDY if you’re under 16 years of age and not independent. Otherwise if you’re 16 years of age and over, or independent, you can apply.

In Transport news:

With the holiday season nearly here, the Department of Transport (DoT) encourages you to ensure you're driving safely by checking your vehicle's plates are clearly visible while you are on the road this Christmas break.

Often in the excitement of packing the car up for the holidays people don't make the necessary safety checks to be compliant with the road rules.

"If you're on the road these holidays and carrying equipment on the back of your vehicle which may obscure your number plate, make sure you have an auxiliary plate affixed to your vehicle," Steve Mitchinson, Director Customer Service Delivery, Driver and Vehicle Services at DoT said.

Drivers are required by law to ensure that number plates affixed to their vehicle are visible and legible with the fine for obscuring a number plate starting at $100.
