Australian Early Development Workshop

The Australian Early Development Census (AEDC) is a valuable tool to assist communities to reflect on and plan for children’s development. The Warren Blackwood Early Years Network invites you to join Gail Clark, Western Australian AEDC Coordinator, to learn more about the AEDC and how it can be used to understand what is working well in the community, and what may need to change to ensure children are offered safe and nurturing environments where they can grow and thrive.
The AEDC is a nationwide population level collection of information about young children’s development. It measures the percentage of children who are developmentally on track, at risk, or vulnerable across five domains: physical health and wellbeing; social competence; emotional maturity; language and cognitive skills; and communication skills and general knowledge.
 
Investing time, effort and resources in children's early years, brings lifelong benefits to them and to the whole community. Please join us to:

• Hear about the developmental outcomes of children in our community and how to use this information to plan safe and nurturing environments where children and their families can thrive.
• Participate in discussions to identify services, resources and support to improve childhood development.
• Connect with like minded key stakeholders and service providers.

 
We welcome representatives from education, health, local government, child and family services, and community representatives (including parents and carers!).
