GENUINELY SOUTHERN FORESTS SHOWCASE AT TRUFFLE KERFUFFLE

Friday 22 - Sunday 24 June 2018

Fonty's Pool, Manjimup Western Australia

For the sixth year running the Southern Forests Food Council has joined the Truffle Kerfuffle in a partnership that will showcase the best of the Southern Forests region this June. As we celebrate the internationally renowned season for the Manjimup black truffle the spotlight is on the wealth of great producers in the region.

From meat and dairy to vegetables, fruit, nuts, wine and of course truffles, the Truffle Kerfuffle has a festival wide commitment to celebrate produce from the Southern Forests region. Local, national and international guest chefs to the festival are excited by the produce that they’ve got the opportunity to cook with and have a strong belief in the importance of agricultural communities like the Southern Forests.

Come along and enjoy some of the many amazing events and experiences on offer throughout the festival weekend.

Dark Delights Dinner
Join George Cooper from Food by the Chef for a dinner of dark delights at Southern Roasting Co. George's philosophy is to use the freshest local produce to provide an exciting new dining experience and create a memorable event. Think an immersive multi course menu of truffles, coffee, chocolate, meats and Genuinely Southern Forests
produce matched with local wines and George's signature private dining style.

Sunday Brunch
Sunday brunch more your style? Sue Hutchins of Shadow Wine Bar has your Sunday feasting covered with truffles, Genuinely Southern Forests produce and plenty of sparkling. Enjoy a truffle laden feast with freshly unearthed truffle whilst looking out at beautiful Fonty's Pool. Sue often uses local Coomer truffles in her menu at Shadow Wine Bar, so we have no doubt she will have some amazing recipes to showcase at this Sunday brunch event.

The Festival Village
Get your truffle fix by eating your way through the Festival Village where there is a bounty of truffles, gourmet food, premium wine, cider and local produce on offer to eat straight away or enjoy at home. Meet the local producers and families responsible for bringing you fresh, local, Genuinely Southern Forests produce as you enjoy live music and entertainment throughout the Festival Village.

A Winters Night
Michelin star chef Sam Aisbett started his culinary journey in his family's butchery business, where he developed an inherent love for food and a respect for those who produce it. Sam will be showcasing
Manjimup truffles harvested minutes from Fonty’s Pool at The Truffle and Wine Co. in a candlelit celebration of local produce, truffles and wine.

Truffle Hunts
It's pretty rare for truffieres to invite guests to experience the harvesting of fresh truffle, but there's nothing quite like seeing firsthand the highly trained dogs unearthing the rare black truffle amongst the oak and hazelnut trees. For a true paddock to plate experience, truffle hunting is a must to meet the truffle dogs and learn about all aspects of truffles.

Ready to enjoy the weekend long celebration of one of the world's most luxurious ingredients, local produce and wines? Join truffle hunters to search out prized truffles, visit the gourmet Festival Village for a taste of the region or get your truffle fix at special dining events. Indulge in fireside cooking sessions in the Chef’s Cabin, catch free demonstrations and entertainment on the festival grounds; discover the farmers, producers, winemakers and community that make up the Southern Forests; or simply soak up the laid back atmosphere.
Rug up, rally your friends and book your tickets on the Truffle Kerfuffle website.
