 On behalf of WestGen, which partners with National Power in WA Biomass Pty Ltd, I am writing to request your support for WA’s most advanced renewable energy project. The Manjimup Biomass Power Station, which will be located 8km south of Manjimup’s townsite, is currently being considered by Synergy as a viable baseload project, suitable for their portfolio, to support WA’s renewable energy target. The Project, if developed, will deliver major economic benefits to the Manjimup and wider south west region. It will deliver local jobs, up to 300 in construction and 100 in operations, generate local spend of $20 million per year, and provide a secure source of baseload power for up to 50,000 homes in the region over a 25 plus year project life. The Project is ready and waiting to be developed, with all relevant approvals in position. All it needs now is the final tick from Synergy. To be successful it needs your help by contacting your local Member of Parliament or ministerial colleagues to voice your support for the Project.
