The excitement is building for our brave trainee Miss Sophie Wilkinson-Knight, as we prepare to send her off on Leeuwin Youth Voyage "1608".
Sophie will join many Community Resource Centre trainees from across our WA Statewide Network to sail from Fremantle to Monkey Mia, returning to Perth by bus on Thursday the 28th April. If you would like to track Sophie's Leeuwin adventure click on this link: Last year we sent Megan Jones, and Clancy Utech on this voyage, on their return our Board of Management and I committed to send our trainees every year as this voyage "challenges fear, motivates and inspires". Megan Jones: "Sailing on the STS Leeuwin II is one of the most terrifyingly brilliant experiences of your life; people can try and explain it but it is only really possible to understand by experiencing it yourself. You are guaranteed to grow in someway or another, you just have to remember that you are not alone - there are 50 odd other people on that boat who you can share you excitement and nerves with" MCRC are extremely grateful to our network partners at Boddington CRC for all their work in organising this fantastic opportunity once again this year. Sophie, we believe in you, we send you off with all our support for a trip of a life time. Ranui, Jade, Megan, Kayla, MCRC Board of Management and community friends. |
